I want to know if anyone has ever taken herbs (and no prescription drugs) and was able to go on to conceive. If so, what kind of herbs did you try and for how long?
I have been reading about different herbs such as Maca that is supposed to regulate a woman's hormones naturally. ***My background I am 28, i do not have kids, I have been diagnosed with PCOS, I produce more estrogen and not enough progesterone, and I have been trying to conceive for quite some time now without any luck. I plan to get insurance at my job in May during open enrollement so I can get fertility medicine but I am hoping that maybe if I try the herbal route that it may work and I can finally be a mommy.
Thank you in advance,
Melissa
Hi! I have been trying to concieve with Pcos for years, have been with Husband for 5 years, I am 29. I have been on 4 rounds of Clomid with no luck, I recently was searching stuff online like natural stuff, because fertility specialists can get expensive, and I bought Ovulex 3 months ago online at there website,www.ovulex.com, I bought a 3 month supply because they have a guarentee on there product so I thought well if it dont work I can still get my money back. I prayed alot and tried to keep in tune with my cycle, I noticed within a month I was ovulating, well I had my last period September 23, and it never showed up in October so I started to test and they were very faint positives so I went to the doctor and I am pregnant 5 weeks and 4 days!! I am still in awe because I have been trying so long and it just happened out of the blue. I encourage you to look into Ovulex because I think it really helped me! Good Luck to you!!

I too have PCOS, and i have never tried herbal supplements, but one thing that does work is a change in your diet. It may take about six months to be effective, but it's better to have one baby later than six now (which is what happens when you use fertility drugs)
the key is to eat a strictly organic diet. Stay away from any meat product that isn't labeled "grown without steriods or hormones" and eat organic produce and drink organic milk. This may sound strange, but i went organic and within six months i had no cysts. of course, the organic lifestyle gets expensive, so i ended up going back to eating "normal" foods, but while i was on the organic diet my body was working normally.
Cascadian Farms and Horizon Organics are some good brands. Pilgrims Pride Chicken at Walmart and Springer Valley Chicken ( i think that's the name) at Publix are good brands, and Kroger and Publix have a good selection of hormone free Beef and Buffalo (like beef but leaner, VERY good, especially in soups and chilli)
also, federal regulations don't allow steriod use in pork products anymore, so most pork is safe to eat. Also try adding a little soy/meat subsitutes in your diet.
Again, you may pay a little more, but Publix and Walmart both offer a good selection of organic prducts and even some store band organics.
Of course, i haven't been eating organically in over a year, and i still managed to get pregnant unexpectedly, so who knows, you could be pregnant already and not even know it, b/c, as you know, we PCOS girls very seldom have a regular period anyways…so how would we notice if we were "late", just look for the other syptoms, although on the diet, you WILL have a CLOCKWORK period.

I used maca with weekly acupuncture and got pregnant about four months after taking it daily. I'm 33 weeks now. Before then, though, I'd had three losses, one round of Clomid and three of Menopur. Maybe it was just time… who knows.
I know someone with PCOS and diabetes who conceived naturally. She went to the hospital with abdominal cramps and they ran a routine pregnancy test and it was positive. Her daughter will be two in January. So PCOS is not always an infertility sentence!
